Synthesis of analogues for meteoric material

We use sol gel synthesis and a range of processing techniques to produce analogues for interplanetary dust and meteoric smoke. Starting materials include environmental minerals and meteorites. These are then analysed for chemical and mineralogical composition, crystal structure and surface properties using a diverse suite of techniques.
